Swim
There is a beautiful, whale-shaped pool with an ocean view on the property. Adjoining the pool is a party-friendly clubhouse. The Palms at Wailea Clubhouse features WiFi connections, outdoor dining area, refrigerator, bathrooms, and a hot tub.
Nearby are many famous beaches. Five of them are:
1. Keawakapu Beach is a gentle beach – great for children – and there is excellent snorkeling on the underwater reef just off the right side of the beach.. Keawakapu Beach is an 8 minute walk from the unit.
2. Ulua beach was named one of the Top 10 Most Beautiful Beaches in America. It is a short stroll along a windy ocean path from Keawakapu Beach.
3. Polo Beach is a nice secluded beach also located on this path that meanders past four Wailea luxury resorts.
4. Wailea Beach is a beautiful beach along the same path. This beach is usually a bit crowded, as it is used by hotel guests from the luxury resorts that surround it. But if you like people watching, this is the place.
5. La Perouse Bay Beach is a black lava beach located about 25 minutes away by car. You get to it by driving on a narrow 1 ½ lane road. The beach is rugged and untamed. If you have a little bit of adventure in you, it is a site you do not want to miss. Wear good hiking shoes and bring a camera and snorkel gear.

Shops of Wailea
Fodors Travel Guide writes: “Stylish, upscale, and close to most of the resorts, this mall brings high fashion to Wailea. Luxury boutiques such as Gucci, Fendi, Cos Bar, and Tiffany & Co. have shops, as do less-expensive chains like Gap, Guess, Banana Republic, and Tommy Bahamas.”
Restaurants at the Shops of Wailea include: Cheeseburger in Paradise, Ruth Chris Steakhouse, Tommy Bahamas, Wailea Kai (Japanese), Longhi’s, Lappert’s Ice Cream, and the Honolulu Coffee Company.
There is a special event every Wednesday where the Art Galleries provide free drinks and pupus, along with a show in the center of the mall called “WOW” (Wailea on Wednesdays.)
The shops are less than a five minute drive or a 15 minute walk from our Wailea home.
